Vision & Values

Why do we exist?

Success and happiness for all

What’s our mission?

In 2030, Harbour Learning Trust will be the leading MAT in the three Lincolnshire counties. Harbour’s reputation will be second to none and the trust will have a portfolio which contains primary and secondary schools, a sixth form college, alternative provisions and at least one special school. We believe in being truly inclusive and representative and this is why our trust contains a wide variety of provisions. Harbour’s ambition is to be a trust of up to 40 schools, all within N Lincs, NE Lincs and the northern half of Lincolnshire.

Harbour Learning Trust will be known for high performance, inclusion, strong staff wellbeing and work-life balance. Our students will feel part of a strong community and our staff will comment on the family feel of the trust. Our strong reputation with all stakeholders and in the wider educational community means our schools will be oversubscribed and fully staffed.

What’s important to us?

As an organisation we are driven by our commitment to live out our Fantastic Five Values and our Magnificent Seven Behaviours and our Fantastic Five DANCE Values

We live our values in all of our schools and with our stakeholders so that everyone knows what Harbour stands for. They become our cornerstone for how we look after our people, and how we recruit, induct and train staff.

Delight & Joy
We let loose our children’s imaginations and encourage them to be creative, learn through play and challenge themselves to do better and be better.

Ambition
Harbour children deserve great schools and inspirational and ambitious staff so we will recruit the best, and nurture talent in our schools that are successful, happy and safe places to work and learn.

Nurture
Harbour children deserve great schools that embody love, deep care and kindness. Everyone in Harbour understands the importance of respecting each other and taking responsibility for our words and actions.

Community
We are proud to live in a diverse world and we will commit to learning, understanding and celebrating inclusion, diversity and equity in our communities.

Empower
We embrace failure as part of learning and empower our children and staff to experiment, be creative, take risks and problem solve, working together to find ways to achieve their goals.

How do we behave?

As leaders, we will be selfless, championing the best interests of our children and staff and living out our mission, values and behaviours consistently. We exemplify this with our Magnificent Seven Behaviours:

We will act with integrity, honesty and transparency in all that we do
We will trust our fellow professionals and value their skills and knowledge
We will work collaboratively and encourage others to do the same
We will work inclusively, building and celebrating inclusive and diverse communities
We will be kind to ourselves and in all our dealings with others, acting with compassion and empathy
We will communicate regularly and with clarity with our stakeholders and with each other, welcoming and reflecting on constructive feedback from others
We will be aspirational for all, wanting the best for ourselves and for everyone involved with Harbour

What do we do?

To empower and inspire children, adults and communities to be ambitious, healthy and kind, dedicated to making our world a better place.

How will we succeed?

Learn from the best. Become better. Give back
Work hard but smart. Do less and focus on what is really important. Find the joy.
Aligned Autonomy. As a trust we will have a strong common core but maintain a disruptive edge so we are agile and open to new ideas, constantly evolving.

Our ambition and desire to learn from the best, become better and then give back drives our strategic plan. To learn from the best means we must always be outward facing and research driven, focusing on seeking out exceptional practice, backed by research. Becoming better means adapting and applying this research to our trust, piloting new ideas, being bold and innovative, taking risks and then embedding best practice. Our professional generosity means that when we have developed and embedded best practice we are always willing to share and support others.

We focus on the things that are really going to make a difference to our children, our communities and our people. We do this through having a strong core, an agreed approach across the things that are central to us, and a disruptive edge that enables us to be different, innovative and do what’s right for our communities.

Success and Happiness

Join our Trust

Our Multi Academy Trust is a family of schools, who are genuinely committed to collaborative working, sharing the same vision and values and placing children at the heart of every decision we take.

By working together, we will strive to create a genuine partnership that all of our pupils, staff, governors and wider stakeholders are proud to be part of.

Our Values

We are child-centred, inclusive and ambitious. We expect everyone to act with integrity and be courteous, polite and kind at all times. We value our staff and invest extensively in training.

These values enable us to deliver a high-quality education that not only encourages curiosity, but equips our pupils with the academic outcomes, confidence, ambition and skills to contribute positively to our community and society in general.
